The human mania of sacrificingthroughout history

From the early beginning of man’s appearance on earth since the modern times, people seem to have developed the opinion that sacrifices will help them achieve their goals.

All kinds of societies, from the less advanced to the most evolutionised, have appeared the tense to sacrifice a person in order to make things go well for them.

First of all, in ancient Greece, which is considered to be a highly advanced society, many people lost their lives because of that belief. It is well known the example of Agamemnon and Ifigenia, in which Agamemnon sacrificed his beloved daughter in order to calm god Posidone so he would let the Greek ships leave for Troy.
