The Holocaust

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade-unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a trade-unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.

The Holocaust is the name given to Nazi Germany’s deliberate, methodical killing of Jews and others under the dictatorship of Adolf Hitler during World War Two. By the end of the War, Hitler had killed over 6 million Jewish men, women and children in his quest to vanquish the world. Hitler, in addition to the Jews, also slew many civilians who were considered racially inferior or politically dangerous.
The largest groups targeted were Germans who were physically handicapped or mental retarded; Gipsies; Poles and Soviet prisoners; homosexuals; Jehovah’s Witnesses and; Communist...
