The History of Journalism

In my opinion, one of the three most important changes in journalism has been the ratification of the Bill of Rights, or more specifically, the First Amendment. The First Amendment has helped the field of journalism progress because originally, when the first newspapers were produced, such as Publik Occurrences, the government had control over the papers and could ban certain publications because they went against the government's teachings or because the government did not feel that they were fit for the people. Nowadays, the people have to right to write whatever they please. A second important change in journalism has been advances in technology. For example, the computer has sped up the process of creating and distributing the finished product to people across the globe and it makes journalism more accessible to all people.
