Block Scheduling Pro’s and Con’s








Many high schools in our country have a block-scheduling plan. This includes several high schools in Maury County. There are many good things and bad things about block scheduling. Block scheduling can help or hurt students depending on how well the student learns or how difficult learning is for the student. Block scheduling is longer class time, which consists of about an hour and a half to two hours. Some people do well with longer class time and some people don’t.
One of the pros of block scheduling is that a teacher can spend more time on their subject in one day. Students have been known to learn more in a class that they have a particular interest in. With the prolonged class time the teacher can get very detailed with the subject and can try to relate to all the students in the class.
