"Womens Rights"
Ever since the beginning, women were never treated equally and never had all the rights. The United States of America is the country, which gives people all the rights of freedom, unlike some countries that have violated the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” of the United Nations. The novel, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, explains how still now women face unique problems for centuries and women experience harassment and discrimination. The Republic of Gilead have violated the Article 5, Article 19 and Article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The People of Gilead should not be put through torture or any other treatment according to Article 5. For example, the woman was reading books and then, “The first one, the one they’re now raising from her chair, black-gloved hands on her upper arms: Reading?
