Saddam Hussein has been given a deadline to destroy his weapons of mass destruction and America is currently considering a second resolution to achieve the backing of the United Nations, or to invade Iraq unilaterally. America and Britain are the main countries who believe in the necessity of armed combat to strip Saddam Hussein of his powers, while Germany, France and Russia have yet to be convinced that the solution does not lie through some more peaceful method. This essay will discuss the political and moral stances of the most influential countries on the Iraq situation and attempt to explain the case for and against war.
