Author Biography
Born in Portland, ME, Stephen King majored in English and minored in drama at the University of Maine. In 1965 his first story “I Was a Teenage Grave Robber” was published in a comic book fanzine. His first published story was “The Glass Floor”. It appeared in “Starting Mystery Stories” in 1967. While learning how to write, he worked at a gas station, industrial laundry and as an English teacher.
His first four novels were rejected before he sold “Carrie” in 1974. “Carrie” was also his first novel adapted to film. In 1985 he disclosed his “Richard Bachmnan” a name he chose in 1977 so as not to oversupply the market as Stephen King. Some of his works are as follows, “The Stand” (1978), “The Shining” (1977), “The Tommy Knockers” (1987), “Needful Things” (1991), and “Pet Cemetery” (1983).

The main character in the book undoubtedly is Paul Edgecomb. Paul is in his 40’s with a wife at home...
