Solutions to the Great Depression

The Great Depression started in the year 1929 when the stock market started to crash on Black Tuesday. It has brought the whole world’s economy to its knee. 26.6% of employees in Canada were laid off and millions of people starved to death. Everybody tried to come up with his or her own solution for the Great Depression. Government came up with different theories and plans to help the Depression. Citizens tried to survive by emergency relief and their own little solutions to keep themselves alive during this hard time. The American president Roosevelt succeeded to improve America’s economy and Canadian politicians took notes to follow his success. Regional leaders also had their own solutions to revive the economy. Some of those solutions could have pulled Canada out of the Depression if the government allowed it to be put into action or was [modified a better.] (Rephrase it)
