The Centrality of “the Founder” in World Religions
Every religious tradition looks back to its founder. The founder is the one who uncovered some piece of the Truth that has become the foundation of the religion. The extraordinary moment when the founder received an original and special revelation from God has been preserved from generation to generation.

* Every religious tradition is centered in a historical figure (founder.) The founder is acknowledged for the “person” he is, and for the “revelation” he has received (Moses and the Law; Mohammed and Social Justice; Zoroaster and the Good Life; Gautama and Enlightenment.)

* In some traditions, the founder had a “religious experience” that is available to his followers. In Buddhism, for example, the “enlightenment” of Gautama became the goal of his followers.
