“The Filipino dream Unmasked”

“One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them all and in darkness bind them.” In the human history of being, many have attempted to conquer the world, to bring up a regime that is nearly invisible and to build an empire that will oust them all. From the reign of Alexander the great, the period of influence of Napoleon Bonaparte, the supremacy of Adolf Hitler and up to the present unipolar power of George Bush, no one has prevailed to seize the power into one hand. The trilogy of the Lord of the rings two towers exemplifies the aspiration of every nation to bring universality, oneness in everything. Thinking thoroughly on our contemporary sociological formation, may it be local or international, I stand that universality is a thing of a past. Though I prefer to speak about the verisimilitude of the actual world, I have to give high regards to the creativity of Mr.Tolkein in presenting his reformist ideas in transforming our society.
