The Feeling Of Championship Manager

This is a part of the story about how I experienced the playing of Championship Manager, the best game ever.
I managed Leeds United, and this is how it was:


It was a sunny day somewhere at the beginning of July, when I heard David O’Leary was fired as manager of Leeds, due to his exaggerated clash with some of the club’s best prospects. Even though I didn’t know which ones exactly, I heard some rumours about Kewell, Smith, Fowler and Woodgate, but there might have been more. Since I had been the manager of Cardiff City for some years I wanted to go for something better. I knew little about their squad, but a quick look at the team made me decide to hand in my application.
Even though there were some other managers who wanted the position, I was chosen by the board. They said I could start the 14th of July, and asked me to come to the board-room first, which I did.
The first thing they told me was that if I didn’t achieve European Qualification I would be transferre...
