The Failures of Nicholas II

Nicholas II is a man that had brought Russia from poverty to an even worse state. In the early 1900s when World War I was about to begin, Russia went into total war. Nicholas II drained most of Russia¡¯s treasury into war efforts. This money was taken away from the Russians who are already in poverty. They needed the money, but Russia was dragged into the conflicts of Europe. The tsar wanted to go to into World War I to gain land. He did not know that Russia was not in the state that can go into war with a powerful country like Germany. The Russo-Japanese war a few years before had given Nicholas more of a reason to go into World War I to get back some recognition in Europe. But his actions were not very wise. Russia was so poor that they didn¡¯t even have enough supplies to support all of its soldiers. I think that Nicholas II should be in the hall of shame for being an incompetent leader.
