“They don't care where you were born, just how.” Discuss the importance of genetic make-up in the world of Gattaca.
In Gattaca (1997) Andrew Niccol has created a film which a society in the “not to distant future” where the majority of births have been genetically engineered.
Niccol shows that DNA is a tiny chemical, it can have a dramatic impact on society if manipulated by science.
Genetic engineered and non-genetic have a huge role in this film, while two brothers fight for there dreams. Genetically engineered ( Anton) and Non- genetic engineered (Vincent) both compete against each other, but the role of image is over powered by blood “When was the last time somebody looked at a photo”. Body image is not necessary, it is how you were born and that you have been genetically engineered.
