The Displaced Person Chapter meanings

After the first week or so after Mr. Guizac had been working the farm pretty much by himself, Mrs. McIntyre called him her salvation. But at that time, salvation to her meant running a good, successful business, and most importantly, making money. Little did she know how quickly her statement would change.
Mrs. McIntyre soon saw problems beginning to arise between Mr. Guizac and the others that worked there. Mr. Guizac had a 16 year old cousin. He came up with a plan to have her marry an American, and have that person help pay for it. His plan was to have her marry sulk and have him pay half to get her over here. When she found out about this, she was furious. More problems began between the negroes and Mr. Guizac. Mr. Guizac was expecting them to work as hard as he was.
