The Diagnostic Iventory For Screening Children

The Diagnostic Inventory for Screening Children Test found in the Mental Measurements Yearbook, interested me the most. It is said to be a “diagnostic screening tool” to be used with children who may be at risk for developmental delay. The test provides a developmental profile in eight areas: Fine motor skills, gross motor skills, receptive language, expressive language, visual attention and memory, auditory and memory, self help skills and social skills. The ages for the population are from birth to age five.
Reliability was found in test-retest and internal consistency. Reliability coefficients ranged from .94 to .99 with low SEM’s.
