Luther was dying, he had a stroke which left him completely paralysed and unconscious. Everyday the media would report on his condition. But you can almost hear the anticipation of death. The news reports would be filled with little effort to conceal their expectations that he would die,..and they all wanted to be the first to report it.

But Luther lingered on,… to the consternation of the newsroom directors and editors, he struggled for his life. It was good for the news initially, but this prolonged struggle was wearing thin for excitement, drama and finality.
