The Crucible:screen play

(Crowd enters the courtroom, followed by the Prosecutor, Bob Jacobson, Defense Attorney, Thomas Jones, and the defendants. Crowd rises a few moments later when the Court Clerk says, “All rise for the Judge John Harrison.” The judge enters out of doors in front of the courtroom. The judge walks to his chair from small door located at the front of the courtroom.)

Court Clerk:
People verses Hathorne and Danforth.
Judge Harrison:
This court is now in session. Mr. Jacobson please bring your first witness to the stand.
Jacobson:
I call Mr. Hale to the stand (Mr. Hale walks to the front of the courtroom from a seat behind the crowd). Mr. Hale will you please tell me what you know about Mr. Hathorne and Mr. Danforth and their relation to the Salem witch trials.
Hale:
Mr. Danforth and Mr. Hathorne tried all the convicted witches in Salem as well as questioned them about witchery.
Jacobson:
Did you ever execute anyone who was not a true witch?
