The Crucible

The Crucible is a play by Arthur Miller. It is a historical drama about the Salem Witch Trials in Salem, Massachusetts 1602. It started with a scene of someone singing and girls slowly starting to dance and sing along. They also laughed, and someone took off her clothes. Then a man came along and someone screamed. The scream brought us to a scene where Betty Paris laid on a bed, sick. Betty Paris’s father, the Reverend Paris, was positive that witchery caused his daughter to be sick. He went to get a Reverend Hale, who was an expert on witchery. When Reverend Hale left, his niece Abigail Williams was watching over Betty. Two of her friends, part of the singing and dancing group, came in to see what they should say when asked about the night before. Abigail threatened them that if they said that the group did anymore than dancing and singing, she would do them bodily harm. During this, Betty let out a blood-curdling scream and proceeded to scream hateful things to Abigail until Abigai...
