The Crime and Punishment of a Thirteen-Year-Old Killer

An article published in the Rolling Stones magazine in October of 2000 called "The Crime and Punishment of a Thirteen-Year-Old Killer", had many examples of new journalism. It was subjective; you could hear the author's voice and tell his opinion of the incident. The tone of the article is different then what you would have seen from a reported before the influence of new journalism.
This story is about a thirteen-year-old seventh grader at Lake Worth Community Middle School in Florida. This is an average school, in an average part of town, with average students. Including Nathaniel Brazill. Nate was a smart kid with lots of friends, a good home life, and a girl he really liked. But he had some built up rage that really didn't stem from anywhere certain. It was nearing the end of the school year and he was not going to see his girlfriend Dinora over the summer.
