The Common Cold


Most of us already know what a common cold is. And I can almost guarantee that all of us has had one before. For those of you who don’t know. Here is an explanation. A common cold is a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. It is highly contagious. The symptom of a common cold are nasal congestion and discharge, sore throat, coughing, and fatigue. These symptoms are also ones associated with asthma and hay fever. This is why some people are uncertain on what they have. When you have a cold, you could have either one or many of these symptoms. Usually, the symptoms do not include fever. If a fever is the case it is probably only a mild one. Symptoms should go away within 7 days. Some other diseases may be caused by the cold that you have, such as bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinus or middle-ear infections. In this essay I will go over common myths, causes of the cold, things you can do to prevent the cold and help make yourself better.
