Like most southern Litterature, Alice Walker’s “The Colour Purple.” Is a book with its own distinctive and unique style. “To Kill a Mocking Bird” is another book of this kind, but whereas “To Kill a Mockingbird” is a detailed recount of a white woman’s perception of religion, family, society and life in the south, “The Colour Purple” is a simplified series of letters of a black woman’s perception of religion, family, society and life in the south.
