The Christian Religion

The Jews in the Eastern Mediterranean first practiced Christianity. Christianity was another monotheistic religion. Their basic beliefs were the Apostles Creed and Nicene Creed. People thought that it was a group within Judaism. As Christianity spread it became a separate religion in its own. The Jewish people believed in a messiah, or savior. The Romans banned the Jews from living in Jerusalem. A Jew named Jesus, who was from Nazareth, starting preaching a new message and was winning new followers. His followers were known as disciples. This man Jesus spent most of his time in Galileo. People thought Jesus was a long-awaited messiah, while others still thought the messiah had not yet come.
