The Challenger

The Apollo program has put men on the moon ever since July of 1969. The NASA space program has successfully put manned space flights in space for over 15 years since the fire that killed three astronauts before it even launched of the ground in 1967. Ever since then, NASA has launched space satellites in space and into the orbit of the Earth and they have managed to send back pictures of Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. NASA has now mastered the technological needs of removing the element of danger.
In 1986, the whole American Space Program was put into jeopardy, and the superb intelligence of NASA’s technology was called into question. On the morning of January 28, 1986, the seventh launch of the space shuttle and the second lift-off of the Challenger. The crew involved a woman for the first time; the mission was to last six days.
