The data did not show a negative relationship between self-esteem and belief in the stereotype that men should be in math and and science whereas women should be in the liberal arts. The hypothsis of the study was not supported. The results of our study do not coincide with other research done on stereo-type threat and self-esteem. Past research showed that the more negatively a group is stereotyped against the more psychological effects they experience.
