The Corporate Veil is a very important concept in corporate law, which was originally developed in England. It was eventually adopted by the United States. The general idea of the corporate veil protects the shareholders of a company from being held responsible for damages the corporation may cause. This rule protects the shareholder from being sued by the plaintiff. In a law suit, the piercing of the corporate veil is rarely allowed. I believe the corporate veil protection can either help or hurt society in different cases.
