Examine the settings which the Authors have chosen for their stories in “The Signalman”, “The Man with the Twisted Lip” and “The Red Room”.

Consider the effects that each writer has created and how they contribute to the atmosphere.


The Signalman by Charles Dickens

The Signalman by Charles Dickens is a spooky and creepy story. It is about a signalman seeing ghosts which are warning him about his death. Basically the signalman foresees his own death. The story is quite slow and boring in places, but towards the end, it gets more interesting and better.
