The Art Of Happiness

“The purpose of our existence is to seek happiness”. This statement may seem like an obvious utterance, in essence common sense to certain people. Western thinkers from Aristotle to William James have acknowledged this “seeking of happiness” as a fact. Yet one could come across another type of person who would deem a life based on seeking personal happiness as self-centered and self-indulgent.

On the contrary, it is “unhappy people” who are considered more self focused and socially withdrawn, and the “happy” ones are seen as being more sociable and able to cope with life’s daily mundane frustrations.
