THE AMISH

The Amish are a religious group who were established in 1693. The Amish are a unique and non-modern society. Three specific things make this statement true. There is their strong belief in their religion, the education they set for their children and the strict wedding that takes place.
In the Amish society, the number one goal is living the way God wants. The Amish hold church services every other Sunday at a different house in their church district. Their church district usually consists of twenty-five to thirty families. It also has one bishop, two preachers, and one deacon. The bishop is the spiritual head of the district. The Amish church service lasts about three hours. During the service, men sit in the front rows of benches, and the women sit behind them.
