The Absurdity of Human Existence

“Woke up, fell out of bed. Dragged a comb across my head. Found my way downstairs and drank a cup. And looking up I noticed I was late. Found my coat and grabbed my hat. Made the bus in seconds flat. Found my way upstairs and had a smoke...” Everyone can familiarize themselves with these lyrics to The Beatles song, “A Day in the Life”. If you were to summarize your day, it would probably sound something like this, like sentence fragments. And to live day to day full of disconnected events lacks meaning. Taking a step back and looking at human existence as a whole, it would seem ridiculous. And this observation holds truth in all of our lives, that human existence is absurd.
Yet if life is so absurd, then what is the use of even existing? Why do we wake up day after day doing the same damn routines with the same damn people? So many ill things go on today in this world. People are suffering. It seems as though humans exist merely to suffer. We might as ...
