“Miracles of 1980”

“Do you believe in miracles? Yes!” Al Michaels asked as he watched the time tick away as the United States men’s hockey beat the Soviet Union. The year is 1980, an icon was assassinated, Saddam was up to his usually tricks, a miracle happened and the name “Dallas” was well known. Those are some events that have taken place in the year 1980. This year was an emotional roller coaster because of the great things that happened as well as the sad and tragic events that happened.
John Winston Lennon was born on October 9, 1940. Lennon grew up in Liverpool in a troubled working-class family. Lennon was a singer; songwriter for a very well known group named the Beatles. Lennon was the man who brought the Beatles into much of their drug use. Lennon is also well known for his relationship with an older Japanese-American Yoko Ono.
