Terrorism

On September 11th 2001, almost three thousand people died in the horrific terrorist attacks in America. The reasoning behind these devastating attacks is still a topic for interpretation. Was it caused by Islamic religious zeal? Is there any justification for these attacks?

Terrorism has no strict definition but the American State Department define terrorism as “ premeditated, politically motivated violence, perpetrated against non-combatant targets by sub-national groups or clandestine usually intended to influence an audience. “Terrorism is not seen as a criminal act, it is political, like the violence the groups such as the Mafia use to get money, but designed to change the existing political order. Freedom fighters differ from terrorists because they wear badges and obey the Geneva Convention. A famous international terrorist group is Al-Queda, who are led by Osama Bin Laden.
