Witnessing the final act, that is where the psyche of normal and abnormal people are today. Unconscionable acts have been plaguing our society for generations. It seems that society as a whole has fallen into the trap that the more gruesome, the better. Where do you stand? Would you like to witness an execution?
Timothy McVeigh wanted his execution televised. Do we know the purpose of someone wanting millions of people to witness his death? It certainly was not because he felt guilty, maybe he wanted us to feel guilty for killing him. Timothy Mcveigh, was convicted of the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. He was scheduled for execution by lethal injection on May 16, 2001.
Burl Cain, the warden for the Indiana prison where McVeigh was housed is a staunch supporter of a televised execution. He said, “ Yes it’s cruel and unusual what he did,” It’s the law of the land. We shouldn’t hide from it. We shouldn’t do it in secret....
