Many believe that abstinence education should be credited for this decline. Others argue that the major reason for the decline in the teen-pregnancy rate is the increased use of contraception. In relation to the sources I have read, I have concluded that the reason for the decline in the teen pregnancy rate should be credited to the increased use of contraception. I also believe that contraception is too convenient for males or females not too use. Jennifer Manlove, a researcher with Child Trends Inc., identifies that “the teen-pregnancy rates may continue to [decline] since abortion rates have been declining and teen birthrates fell in both 1998 and 1999”(qtd.in Wetzstein 33)
