Teen Suicide

Im going to be talking about youth suicide. Youth suicide was one of the issues dealt with in looking for Alibrandi, with the suicide of John Barton. John’s death had a devastating effect on all the people who knew him. Many didn’t understand why john would kill himself, because he seemed so successful. He was surrounded by people who loved him, yet he felt alone. Maybe if these people had reminded him how they felt, things would have turned out differently. Youth suicide is a sad issue in society today. Too many teens are becoming statistics. Last year, suicide was the recorded cause of death of 2,366 Australians. That’s about 6 people a day. By far the greater part of these deaths involved males; they make up 79 per cent of the total number of suicides, women about 21 per cent. Some of them have seen it as a way out, when their life feels so terrible that they just cant take it anymore. You have to remember that there is always a way out.
