As we analyze our Learning Team’s diversity can have a positive and/or negative impact on our group effectiveness. We identify four types of diversity that will have the greatest impact on our effectiveness of Learning Team. The four types of diversity are geographical differences, differences in skills and abilities, personality traits, and value and attitude differences.
Geographical differences are one type of diversity that affects our team. Two of us live in the country, one in the city, and one in the suburbs. Some positive impacts this has on our team are that we are from a wide range of different locations, been exposed to different situations, and have different ideas on subjects. One critical component of building this team from different geographical locations is the creation and development of trust.
