These conflicts are always distinct, but they are noticeable underneath the exterior. The conflicts between men and women come into view in the relationship between Valerian and Margaret and Jadine and Son. Earlier in the relationship between Valerian and Margaret, Valerian is absorbed by his work, thus causing Margaret to become bored at home.
