Good morning class,
I will be analyzing how Larry Watson dealt with racism in Montana 1948 and how it affects key individuals in the story.
Racism, discrimination and injustice by whites towards Indians and African Americans during the time this book was set was customary. They were underclass and were kept in their place as much as possible by the whites.
Watson shows the racism that the American Indians had to endure throughout their life through the eyes of young David Hayden. From the start of the novel, he begins to see the real world and how harsh it actually is.
