1. Ahmed Rashid has written this book with an aim to highlight the plight of Afghans who had spent 20 years at war and were totally ignored by the international community. This book has three main parts. First part gives history of Taliban Movement, second part highlights new style fundamentalism of Taliban, their political and military organisation and concept of global Jihad. Last part is about “The New Great Game”. Basically it deals with the geo-politics of the region, oil issue, Islamic fundamentalism and history of Afghanistan. The main focus of this book is to emphasise that Afghanistan and Afghans need international attention. The writer is an expert on current situation and writing as a correspondent for Far Eastren Economic Review and Daily Telegraph on Afghanistan, Pakistan and Central Asia....
