Taking Time To Listen

There was a time when teachers really cared about their students. Today, teachers do not understand or care about everyday problems that face our students such as learning differences, stress at home and peer pressure.
Students with learning differences often have problems that go far beyond those experienced in reading, writing, math, memory, or organization. For many, strong feelings of anger, frustration, sadness or shame, can lead to psychological difficulties. Teachers can make things a little easier for the student, by trying to understand some of the reasons for the changes the student my face. With teachers disapproval of the academic struggles makes a student receive negative feedback. Such disapproval can take form of negative labeling of a student as "lazy," "slow," or "dumb."
