Synopsis

Stephen Crane, born on November 1, 1871, was the youngest of fourteen children born to Jonathan Crane, a methodist minister. Howevever, after his father's death in 1880, he was raised by his devout, resolute mother. He began writing stories at the tender age of eight and began writing for the New York Tribune around the age of sixteen after his mother's death. Crane lived among the poor in the Bowery slums to research the writing of his first novel, which he had to print with his own money. And thus, in 1883, a girl of the stree...
