Symbolism

The poem, “Ode to a Nightingale” was written by Keats. This poem is both about the concrete idea of a nightingale, but also uses the bird as a symbol. Keats writes about the bird and its song. He describes the bird, which is concrete, and he talks about and describes the bird’s song. But the way he uses the nightingale as a symbol, is that he uses it to symbolize what he wants in life.
