Suburbanisation in Australia

The urban dynamic called Suburbanisation has only been a recent occurrence in Australia since 1970¡¦s. With the introduction of streetcars and suburban rail networks suburban living was now possible for an increasing number of people. The owing of a house in the suburbs during post-world war 2 became a focus of the Australian dream. With the temptation of separation and privacy an increasing number of residents pulled away from the crowded inner city and towards the expanding suburban frontier.
As transport became convenient and cheaper, more Australians were able to purchase their own detached house on its won block of land. Ensuring them privacy, seclusion and security. Any other form of housing was seen as temporary rather than a permanent substitute. Today¡¦s Australian¡¦s continue to live in the broad sweep of the Post-World War 2 suburbs.
