struggles in the crucible

In “the Crucible” by Arthur Miller each main character in the play demonstrated inner struggle at one time or another. The crucible is based on a time peopd of dishonesty and cruelty for many members of the Salem community and surrounding towns. There was a lot of tension between neighbors and friends but also among each character and themselves. Reverend Hale, Jon Proctor and Mary Warren each had a difficult struggle to deal with, each of them dealt with it in a dissimilar way leading to a different outcome for each character.
Reverend Hale’s example of inner struggle and change is one that is prominent in the book. He feels committed to God and this is where his struggle begins. He will not give up until he cleanses the town of evil. He feels he is doing the right thing.
