Strawberries

Members of the Rosaceae (rose) family, strawberries are not really fruits or berries but are the enlarged receptacle of the flower. Its formal name, Fragaria meaning fragrance, perfectly describes a strawberry’s smell. In spring, strawberries are the first fruit to freshly ripen under the golden sun; however, fresh strawberries must be eaten quickly for it becomes rotten, moldy, and extremely bitter after a few days.
