Strategies for Computer Recycling

Many alternatives are available to improve computer recycling and to reallocate computer usage. On October 24, 2002, Dell Computers set an industry precedent through the introduction of a computer recycling program. This option allows any customer to recycle any desktop or laptop computer through a simple process. The customer completes online shipping instructions and returns the computer to Dell in one easy step. The computer is then dissembled and 98 percent of its parts re-enter the raw material process.
A large amount of competition exists between computer production companies; therefore, another strategy would be to initiate the recycling process begun by Dell in 2002. This method would offer companies improved selling techniques and lead to sustainable development.
