Story of an Hour

Many would sacrifice almost anything to attain freedom. Such as in Kate Chopin’s The Story of an Hour, the thought of potential freedom invokes happiness even in times of mourning. By portraying a newly created widow, who was once trapped in a marriage dominated by her loving husband, Chopin shows that at a time of tragedy, the taste of freedom helps one grow and strengthens them to happily push on no matter what the situation.
