Steps to being a better Single Parent



Single parenting has become a more commonplace and accepted parenting style in the United States. Being a single parent can be frightening, confusing and overwhelming but it can also be very rewarding. Statistics show that single parent households have greatly increased in the late 1960s and continued to rise through the 1970s and 1980s. Statistics also show that about one third of all children born annually in the U.S. each year are born to unwed mothers. Many single parent homes are due to death of a spouse, couples who never marry by choice, abandonment, couples who separate, divorce, and single parent adoptions. Researches have found that ensuring that children are well cared for is more fundamental than their parents’ marital status. Personally, I feel there are at least four attributes that will make parenting easier.
