Star Wars as a myth

To Be a Myth, or Not To Be

“A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…” starts the well-known movie Star Wars. This movie has it all, lightsabers, the Force, spaceships, talking droids, what more could one ask for in a great science fiction movie? But would one ever think that this famous movie could be a myth? Believe it or not, Star Wars is a myth for many reasons including, Luke being aided by loyal friends, he had to endure many tasks, he is unaware of his origins, Star Wars teaches moral lessons, and because the Force is a religion.
In the movie Star Wars, Luke Skywalker has many signs of being a mythic hero. One sign is that throughout the movie he was aided by loyal friends. Near the beginning of the movie, Luke and his Uncle Owen bought two droids, C3PO and R2D2. C3PO and R2D2 are both droids that were on the enemy’s ship.
