St. Catherine Laboure

The night of July 18, 1830 was a night that changed world’s history. It was the night when the Blessed Virgin Mary entered in the modern Marian era. It had been almost 300 years since the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe in 1531. This night in 1830, Our Lady’s apparition began a progression of Marian apparitions, expressions, and religious proceedings that were to pursue one another down to our day. The Holy Mother of God began her movement with a twenty-four year old learner in the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity, on the Rue due Bac in Paris. That learner, is whom we know now as St. Catherine Laboure.
St. Catherine was awakened by her Guardian Angel, who called her several times. She awoke to see her Angel as a very pretty child of about five years old.
