These three types have different roles but at the same time they ought to give the best cooperation, but it is not easy to get members to guarantee their full cooperation. Due to this, disputes may arise between several parties, such as sportsperson and sportsperson, coaches and sportsperson, coaches and officials, and sportsperson and officials. Recently, a national badminton player, Ong Ewe Hock, was issued a show cause letter on 23 December 2002 by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) for criticising the national association’s decision to appoint a local as head coach for the national team.
